Presentations / Seminars Catered to Church Needs
We understand that Churches utilize a wide variety of activities and events to cater for the needs of their Members. With this in mind, we create presentations / Seminars geared to the specific needs of an event. If there is a subject that we would not feel confident in presenting, then we would let you know this at the time of your request.
We are very committed to achieving goals with our presentations / Seminars. It isn’t enough to show up and give a talk. We will ask you to define “what do you want to accomplish with this event?” We frequently receive requests from Churches to speak to a specific issue they recognize as a problem. Their belief is that if they simply address the issue (like not taking your children to Children class or VBS), the people will respond and do the desired behavior. While it is tempting to believe that this will work, our experience has taught us that this method no longer works.
You are asking people to make some sacrifice based on rules and guilt. This is no longer the case. We have these issues because we have failed to effectively evangelize our children, and they have grown up living a faith of obligation, not love. People will sacrifice for love, not obligation!
We say this to acknowledge the fact that before we can address some of the more mature faith issues, we must first go back and evangelize them so that they have what they need to grow into maturity – a viable relationship with JESUS!
This is a call to re-evangelize our own Members, within our pews. This also is about reaching out beyond our churches to the larger community right now. That has to come but only after we have resolved the issues within our Churches. So many of the problems we recognize must be dealt with in a step by step process. Like children, you can’t teach a child to walk if they have not been born yet…
We can’t expect Members to live authentic mature discipleship when they have never been evangelized. Therefore, if you desire to have Pastor Horner speak at your Church event, it is important all have a clear understanding of the purpose of the event and the specific talk you desire to be given.
